Color-forward. Unapologetically bold.

My work begins with intuition and builds through layered marks, fragments of pattern, and dynamic color relationships — compositions that suggest rather than explain.

Each piece develops through cycles of adding, obscuring, and rediscovering. I’m drawn to the tension between structure and spontaneity: grids interrupted by gesture, areas of quiet balanced with passages of energy. Evidence of change remains visible, allowing the history of the painting to stay present within the final work.

About the work

Although I work with mixed media, the materials themselves are simply tools for exploration. I respond to visual experiences — architectural rhythms, textiles, surface textures, and unexpected color encounters — translating them into abstract compositions that feel familiar but not literal.

Viewers often notice different things at different times. A painting may feel bold from across the room and intimate up close, revealing smaller relationships and subtle shifts on repeated viewing. The work is meant to remain active in a space, continuing to offer new discoveries rather than a single fixed reading.

About the artist

I am a Maryland-based artist whose work has been exhibited in regional juried and member exhibitions, including shows with the Montgomery Art Association and at The Artists Gallery (TAG) in Frederick, Maryland.

My background in communication and education informs my interest in perception — how people view,, interpret, and form personal connections with visual imagery.

My goal is to create paintings that engage viewers over time and reward attention without requiring explanation.

Original artwork is available through this site and through selected exhibitions.
